Samsung introduced Soundcamp last year. The app allows users
to make
digital music right on their Samsung smartphone. The company today
released an update which brings several new features to this Digital Audio
Workstation and Musical Instrument Digital Interface sequencer application. The
latest version brings a new launcher design and better tools that help music
creators improve their skills and produce creative tracks. The app opens into
what looks like a real-life rehearsal room with basic, preset musical
instruments scattered on the floor that users can access and play with a tap.
Users can also connect to and record using various
third-party music apps located on the shelf above the instruments. An
upgraded guitar and bass have been added to the instruments, users can play the
guitar either in Chords mode by strumming the strings on-screen like they would
play a normal guitar or in Notes mode by selecting notes on a guitar fretboard.
Basic strumming techniques like string muting, hammer-ons, string bending,
pull-offs and more can also be performed. Both electric and acoustic timbres
are available and others can be downloaded.
The Looper feature, which lets
users play live by manipulating elements of sample loops, has also be improved
to help users easily produce the sound they want. All this and much more is
available in the updated Samsung Soundcamp app that’s now available for
download via Galaxy Apps and the Google Play Store.
